About BEG Support Informatica
Founded in 2015, BEG Support is an Oracle partner specializing in Oracle databases and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The company provides application development, systems integration, and cloud services, and is located in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. BEG’s cloud hosting and support services enable small and medium-size companies to reduce IT-related costs by moving their computing environments and business applications to the cloud. The company also has extensive Oracle database experience and delivers database-related services to a wide range of Oracle customers. For more information, visit http://www.beg.inf.br/.
The Challenge
In its initial years, BEG Support Informatica focused its business on Oracle database development and support and system integration. As the company grew and prospered, the executive team began looking for expansion opportunities that would accelerate BEG’s growth.
In 2018, Oracle announced the opening of an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) datacenter in Brazil. As an existing Oracle partner, BEG realized that OCI represented a premium expansion opportunity. At that time, Brazil was beginning to experience a shortage of IT workers due to an uptick in hiring for that sector, leaving many small to medium businesses’ IT departments significantly understaffed. By becoming an Oracle Cloud provider partner, BEG could leverage the national shortage in IT staff by promoting Oracle Cloud hosting services to small and medium businesses as a replacement for managing IT systems onsite.
As a seasoned Oracle partner, BEG did not have a steep learning curve related to Oracle Cloud, reducing their barrier to entry in the cloud services business. But the company did face one significant challenge: how to cost-effectively provide remote access to the Windows® applications used extensively by their target customers.
BEG assembled a team of three IT administrators and began to evaluate technologies that provided remote access to Windows applications. Initially, BEG tested Microsoft® Remote Desktop Services (RDS). Said Guilherme Solon da Costa, Director at BEG, “RDS was very complex to implement and manage, and made inefficient use of computing resources. And we didn’t like Microsoft’s named user pricing. We concluded that using RDS would reduce our profitability as a cloud services provider due to the additional costs for licenses and administration.”
BEG also evaluated a desktopless OS approach to providing applications and work environments, but concluded that it would be increasingly difficult to manage as they grew their cloud services business.
Having hit a technical wall, BEG reached out to Oracle to see if they could recommend a solution that worked on OCI that did not use RDS to enable multi-user access. Oracle recommended GO-Global® and referred BEG to Centric Solutions, a GO-Global reseller located in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The Solution
Centric provided BEG with GO-Global trial licenses which BEG’s IT admin team utilized to begin a proof of concept running GO-Global on OCI. GO-Global installed quickly and was very easy to manage using a single console—unlike the multiple consoles required to manage RDS. Further testing revealed that GO-Global used computing resources much more efficiently than RDS and that applications delivered by GO-Global ran faster than RDS, giving customers a far better computing experience.
Guilherme commented, “The tipping point for me was pricing. GO-Global licensing is less than RDS, and GO-Global is priced by concurrent user, not named user like RDS.”
BEG set to work to establish their Oracle Cloud service powered by GO-Global. Said Guilherme, “It took less than three months to create the environment and establish our new cloud service. GO-Global’s simple setup and ease of use helped us to move forward quickly.”

Results
BEG launched their service in 2020 with a handful of customers, customizing each customer’s cloud environment and rolling them out one at a time. By early 2023,the company had expanded their Oracle Cloud business to 150 customers and 1500+ end users, with substantial additional growth anticipated in 2023 and beyond.
BEG continues to appreciate GO-Global’s efficient use of computing resources, ease of management, and concurrent user pricing model. Additionally, said Guilherme, “As we continue to grow, we value GO-Global’s security and easy management more and more because it means less work for the cloud admin team. We can manage the entire GO-Global environment from any computer with cloud access, and we don’t need RDS!”
Guilherme added, “Our customers find GO-Global easy to use, and like the easy login and fast performance from any browser.”
Guilherme concludes, “Without GO-Global, we would have not been able to take advantage of the emerging cloud services market in Brazil. With GO-Global and Oracle Cloud, we’ve been able to accelerate our business.”
