Five Reasons to Leave the Citrix Service Provider (CSP) Partner Program

If you’re a Citrix® CSP partner that’s now being managed by Arrow Electronics, you may be frustrated, angry, and/or unsure of your future with Citrix.

Many Citrix partners in your position see this move as a rejection, despite a commitment to Citrix lasting years or even decades. For those partners, here’s a list of reasons to leave the CSP program and consider GO-Global’s partner program.

1. Enterprise-Class Technology without Enterprise-Level Complexity

Established in 2008, the Citrix Service Provider partner program was formed to provide sales, marketing and technical support for service provider channel partners—specifically, Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs)—that were leveraging Citrix products in their application delivery infrastructure. Over time, as Citrix has shifted its offerings from product- to service-focused, CSP partners have had to rebuild their application delivery infrastructure to accommodate that shift.

In September 2023, Citrix announced that all CSP partners must adopt the Citrix Universal for CSP platform. The platform is a bundle of Citrix and NetScaler capabilities selected by Citrix.

The result is that the Citrix platform includes features that the MSPs and ISVs in the program may not need. One ISV told us that they use only 20% of the Citrix features available to them, and they need to run their Citrix infrastructure on bare metal servers in order to deliver a high-performing application to their customers.

Don’t pay for features that you don’t use. If you’re an MSP or ISV that wants to deliver Windows applications to customers located anywhere, GO-Global is an application publishing solution—not a platform—that works with any cloud infrastructure to deliver applications to any device with a browser. Despite its low price, GO-Global delivers enterprise-level scalability and easy, granular management of user sessions via GO-Global’s Admin Console to further ensure a great user AND administrative experience.

With GO-Global you’re free to build the cloud platform that works best for you and your customers.

2. Concurrent – Not Named – User Licensing Model

Named user model licensing does not reflect MSP’s and ISV’s reality. For customers utilizing a cloud service, the expectation is that they will be billed by the MSP or ISV for concurrent usage, i.e., the highest number of users utilizing the service at the same time during the month. This conflict is a sore point for MSPs and ISVs. As an example, one GO-Global ISV customer told us that when they hit 6,000 concurrent users, they were being billed for 18,000 named users, which took a huge bite out of their profit margins.

GO-Global licenses by concurrent user, so you pay for actual—not potential—usage. GO-Global’s concurrent user pricing model aligns with standard SaaS pricing models, saving you money over named user pricing models, so you can offer your customers an industry-standard subscription model and maintain your profitability.

3.  Greater Efficiency to Scale Up, Not Out

Citrix technology was built for organizations that needed to provide desktops or applications to employees. Performance and efficiency are not priorities for Citrix’ standard customer. As one of GO-Global’s enterprise ISVs, which uses Citrix to deliver desktops to employees, remarked, “Employees are willing to wait. Customers are not.”

In contrast, GO-Global was built to make highly-efficient use of computing resources while delivering a great user experience. One GO-Global ISV customer was able to support 20% more connected users per application server with no resource increase; another ISV that switched to GO-Global found that after the switch they were able to grow their user base an additional 60% without adding computing resources to the existing infrastructure.

Users also benefit when an ISV or MSP switches to GO-Global. A GO-Global ISV customer told us that when an existing customer was asked for feedback after his account was moved to GO-Global, he said, “We're not sure what you did, but the speed became really, really fast.”

4. Annual or Monthly Subscriptions with No Annual Revenue Commitment

One of the significant changes to Citrix’ CSP program is the requirement for program partners to make an annual revenue commitment to Citrix. While CSP partners with less than 2,000 licenses are exempt from this requirement in 2025, Citrix has made no promises about this exemption for 2026 and beyond, which may keep smaller CSP partners awake at night during the second half of 2025.

GO-Global does not require an annual revenue commitment from our ISV and MSP partners, and never will. All GO-Global concurrent user subscriptions require a one-year up-front contractional commitment that can be paid annually or monthly. And we work with our MSP and ISV partners to ensure that their contractual commitment reflects their business reality.

5. Simple Partner Program with Satisfying Results

CSP partners now being managed by Arrow Electronics are sure of only one thing—that they will have adopt the Citrix Universal for CSP platform. Arrow has not made any additional information about the program public.

GO-Global’s partner program is designed to be simple, straightforward, and beneficial to partners. We provide every partner with definitive, easy-to-understand goals; easy-to-implement go-to-market resources; straightforward product training, and ongoing product support. Simply put, our goal is to make our partners more successful.

As one GO-Global ISV said, “What sets the GO-Global team apart from other vendors is that our priorities are truly your priorities…We are grateful for the collaborative nature of our relationship with you guys….it’s really fun working with you, and that’s not the case for all partnerships.”
