Log files 12 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi

I am trying to investigate why our iGoldMine server is crashing(rebooting).

Could you tell me what would cause an APS log file to be closed and a new one created?

The log file in question was closed (apparently properly) 10 minutes before the server rebooted.

Thanks

Hello,

Since this is iGoldmine it is supported by FrontRange and you need to contact them for support. They will probably make sure you have run their latest compatibility update and then get a complete memory dump from the crash. Please let me know if you need any assistance with contacting them.

I appreciate that, but surely creating APS logs is the same in each product?

When the APS is restarted for whatever reason, a new APS log gets created. In this case it sounds like the APS stopped because of whatever was going on with the system that caused it to crash. What needs to be determined is why the system crashed.

Thanks, thats what I thought.

I now have a closer idea as to when the system crashed.

Hopefully because there is an entry at the end saying "Log Closed", this means that the APS got a chance to write this event before the carsh, therefore propably was not the cause of the crash.

Thanks again.
