How to lock down go-global server? 12 Years, 10 Months ago Karma: 0
I'm looking for a way to lock down my server, Windows 2003 Server, for use with go-global in the same manner as you have in your demo. Is there any documentation on how your company has set up their demo? I understand that this is not really your responsibility, but I'm currently the only programmer in my company, so "get someone else" is not an option. Any help would be appreciated.

-- Ok, I saw the post on the the NoDrives change to the registry setting in the posting entitled: "Hiding Server Drives (My Documents)". This worked for me, however, I still don't know how to stop a user from just typing "C:\" while in an Open\Save dialog?

Christian,

As you indicate, the lockdown of any server is a Sys Admin task. While I don't know the specifics on the demo server lock-down, I do know the server was not configured with standard Windows options but rather through a 3rd party tool. I'll look to see if I can find the product and/or company name.

Deny access c: or d: or other driver on server 12 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 0
I think christina wanna disable user type c: or d: to access Hard disk on server .May this registry can solved the problem.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer]
"NoViewOnDrive"=dword:0000001f

Can prevent user type c:\ or d:\ in IE or explorer.If want prevent user access Address bar.You can publish IEgoto.IEgoto is more good security.
Just Foward,back and refresh.

But all user will be deny access the dirver.so when needed just delete the registry.or save a copy of "NoViewOnDrive"=- ,when click the registry,end the explorer process and execute explorer again.

For security reason may can disable network neighborhood and UNC path.
