Windows Installer error with Office 2003 12 Years, 11 Months ago
We are using a W2000 Server with all updates and the recent GGW Version 3.0.2.2930. Our clients have W2000 or XP Pro and use the Windows Client, no browser plugins. When a regular user starts any kind of Office 2003 Pro (with SP1) application, he receives a "error 1719" from the Windows Installer Service. But after that Word, Excel or whatever load and seem to work fine. This error does not occur when a user has administrative privileges. Of course Office was installed with all features included. So what is the Installer Service trying to do and how do i get rid of the annoying message?

All GO-Global users need local log-on rights (capability). Not sure what the
Office error is specifically referencing but you can get more info from the Microsoft Knowledge Base. See the following article:

I believe it is some user rights issue. All users receiving the installer error are part of the local user group on the server, so they are allowed to log on locally. Nevertheless only users who belong to the administrators group do NOT get the error.
I am not sure what kind of logon GoGlobal is performing, so what rights are necessary for using GoGlobal? We once used the server as an application server through terminal services, but now it is switched back to remote administration only, not sure if that somehow messed up the group memberships or logon rights.
I checked for articles in the Microsoft KB, but they do not help in this issue.

Under my test~
office should put the locationth what OS can get it.Ex d:\
When user click word,excel.. first time will install some initinal file to
personal profile.
If install windows 2000,normal user will work good.
If install windows xp or 2003 ,user should have local administrator right.
when finish install initial file. Can remove administraor right.

Same with Visio,Project.
