Just started getting service-specific error code 3687 code when trying to start Application Publishing Service. Tried reinstalling application. However that did not resolve. Any ideas.

Most likely, this is the extremely rare result of a recent Microsoft Windows Update: 981957

We have this problem again with v3.2 Go-Global Application Publishing Service Failing, but with the recent updates that were released on 1/8/2011 (one of these - KB2443105 - 2467659 - 2443685 - 2440591 - 2436673 - 2296199 - 2423089) ... Which update, do you suppose, is rarely causing Go-Global to fail this time?

The above mentioned Windows Update 981957 killed Go-Global for a server that I support back a few months ago. Removing it fixed the issue - I've marked that update to not install.

The customer is unable to utilize Go-Global again after running Windows Update, and won't be until we presumably remove one of the Critical Windows Updates. Any thoughts on which one, before I have to remove all of them and do it via process of elimination?

Thanks for your support. It would be quite helpful if GraphOn would update their program, as many people utilize it still. Doesn't build a lot of confidence in Go-Global support to warrant an upgrade to v4.

John,

Looks like KB2436673 is the culprit. There is a GG3 compatibility update on the FTP that addresses this KB.

For future reference, you might open a Case with the Support team. They can clear these type of questions in no time.

It's also worth noting that this type of issue is generally specific to the 32-bit version of GO-Global. The 64-bit version of GO-Global 4 has been very stable and received no compatibility updates.

I am running GG4 (64bit) on 2008R2 (64bit). KB2436673 killed GG4 for me as well. Thanks to this post, I was able to uninstall the MS update (and disable it from installing again). GG4 is now working again.

So the problem still exists in GG4.

Shaun.
