i have an application which reads from and writes to setting xml files stored on client machine. Is is possible to access (create/read/write) files on client machine is the application is enveloped inside go-global for windows?

Thank you

Not sure if you're asking for local file access (from a GO-Global session) or for a remote application process that can launch a local application? The former can be done via the Client Drives option within the Cluster Manager -> Tools menu -> Server Options -> Client Access section and the latter can be one by using our Client Process Manager SDK. If you need the SDK, please contact your local reseller or open a Case with the Support team.

thanks for your response erik.

Let me elaborate the situation.

We have a program which reads data from xml file and shows images. Now is it possible to host our program on go-global server and serve up client by reading the xml and image files stored locally on the client machine via Client Drives Option?

I pressume the program code processing/execution is done on the server so will the image files be streamed back onto server for display?

What we'd like to achieve here is install display program on server and serve up all the client machines using/loading files stored on client machine. This way we can get away with not installing program on client machine and can maintain the program centrally.

is it possible?
Thanks

Raxit,

Some more feedback on this... You may not need the SDK for this functionality to work.

Assuming the application running the xml script is running through a GO-Global session, the program / xml application should be able to see the users mapped drives via the standard mapped drives option in the cluster manager.

You will need to notify the xml script or program the GO-Global naming for the mapped drives. IE: Clients C: dirve often gets renamed to M: in a GGW session.

Would this work?

Thanks for the response erik. The next question was, the program loads images stored on the client hard dirve. Will the image be streamed back onto go-global server?
