Go-Global stop working after hibernate 7 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
I'm testing Go-global for my company on a laptop (Nec Versa, Windows XP Pro Sp3). When I hibernate my laptop (deep sleep), go-global stop working after re-activation. Then, I have to restart my computer. Is-it normal?
Thanks

Did I ask something impossible to solve? No answer, even from the official? As we are in the moment to choose whether we use this product or not, the no-answer will help us...

Patrick,

It's not clear whether your laptop functions as a GO-Global server or client. Generally speaking, servers don't hibernate so I'm presuming this is a GG client.

As a client, if the laptop goes into hibernation then the GO-Global connection will suspend (assuming that option is activated in the Cluster Manager). You should be able to re-connect and pick up after you left off. Is this your scenario?

Good guess

Last time I was able to test it, when I go into hibernation, Go-Global didn't re-connect when I come out of hibernation. It didn't found the server and I must restart the computer from the beginning. I've found an option that Allow the computer to switch off Ethernet Card to save Energy. Is this can be the cause?

Patrick,

Have you been able to do a manual suspend/resume of a GO-Global session?

Two things to check:

1) Make sure the suspend/resume option is enabled in the Cluster Manager. Cluster Manager -> Tools menu -> Server Options -> Session Shutdown tab. The actual option name is "Disconnected sessions terminate". Enter the number of minutes you'd like you session to be available After disconnecting/suspending.

2) Manually suspend the session, reboot your laptop and see if you can reconnect.

If you can reconnect, the issue is most likely something with your hibernation configuration, perhaps the NIC card/energy savings setting but I couldn't say that for sure.
