Hi,

I've got a VPS, my hosting provider is using SWSoft virtualization (a la Plesk - but Plesk is not installed atm).

OS: Microsoft Server 2003 Enterprise SP2 32-bit.

The device manager reports:
-----------------------------
The software for this device has been blocked from starting because it is known to have problems with Windows. Contact the hardware vendor for a new driver. (Code 48)
-----------------------------

The aps log shows (excerpts):

I've tried:
- Microsoft Updates: breaks the VPS in this virtualization environment so it can't boot.
- Fresh install with & without Plesk.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to progress?

James

Hi,

Looks like the problem is tied to the Parallels Virtuozzo environment.

The solution: move to dedicated hardware!

Virtuozzo & Go-Global don't mix!
