TOPIC: Send email via MAPI and Outlook

Send email via MAPI and Outlook 10 Years, 7 Months ago Karma: 0
I have an application that sends emails out via a MAPI call to the current email program, this being Outlook. When the application makes the MAPI call, the email screen comes with with all the attachments and stuff, but it won't send. The only way to send is to open Outlook, then it sends.

We have Outlook set to automaticly send but it's just not sending unless Outlook itself is running.

Does anyone know a way around this?

Thanks!

Hi,

I came across your post while I was having the same problem and thought that you and anyone else might like to know the solution I found. I apprecaite it was two years you did the original post.

To overcome this issue I set up Outlook Express as my default email client and configured it to pop3 into exchange and send the email. Express doesn't hold outgoing emails in queues, it will send straight away. Good thing is that the sent email gets routed through exchange so you have a record.

I hope this helps.
