I have an application that hangs when exiting the application from a remote client. The server is Windows XP, the clients tried are Windows XP and Linux.

It always hangs, unless I am connected to the client machine via some kind of terminal service ... (if I have a vnc connection to the linux client, then open the linux go-global client and then open the application, it works OK ... same if I enable Shared Desktop on a Windows XP Client, then open the go-global client on that machine and connect to the server (works OK).

But, If I open the go-global client directly, then connect to the server, the application works OK, but it hangs on trying to exit.

I have noticed that when it works (via the remote desktop connections) the clients always have reduced color settings ... and when it hangs, the client seems to be using full color.

Is there a way to make go-global use a reduced color setting? Do you think that could possibly be the problem?

For what it is worth ... the application is "Deltek GCS Premier"

BTW ... this is on the test server version: 3.1.0 - 3292

And this application is the reason we would be purchasing GO-Global ... so it has to work.

Edit---
I upgraded to the latest server and client for windows ... same issue exists.

(new version 3.1.0-3296)

hughesjr,

Presumably this is a evaluation of GO-Global? If so, you'll be better off diagnosing this issue through the sales channel. First thing that comes to mind however, is to try to add the application within the DEP restriction settings.

1. Right click on My Computer then click on the Advanced tab in the System Properties dialog

2. Click on the Settings button in the Performance section in the Advanced tab

3. Click on the Data Execution Prevention tab in the Performance Options dialog

4. Select the second radio button in the dialog "Turn on DEP for all Programs and services
except those I select" then click on the Add button then browse for the application executable
then add it to the list, Click on the Apply button then the OK button

5. Reboot the server

If this fails, please contact sales@graphon.com and work with them to get the problem resolved. A sales engineer or support technician will be on hand to help resolve the problem.
