Does Windows CE 5.0 client change Keyboard layout ? 12 Years ago Karma: 0
Hi,

we have running latest version of GGW Server on Windows 2000 workstation - German version.
When connecting with GGW pc client to the server, anything works fine -
the os of the client pc is w2k german version. the version of GGW client software is US.
So we testet a BlueShark thinclient with Windows CE 5.0. The BlueShark Apriza 5410 has got the GGW Windows CE 5.0 Client, ICA Client, Thinprint, Windows RDP Client, Powerterm and MS Internet explorer allready installed defaultly.

The problem is following:
The thinclient has got US version of CE installed.
When setting the local keyboard in CE setup to german keyboard, anything works fine. The german keyboard layout works in any application of the CE including internet explorer.

When connecting to Windows terminal server via rdp client the keyboard leyout is german.

When connecting to GGW Server via installed CE client the keyboard layout is different. So we testet several local keyboard layouts of different countrys: US, German, Swiss German.

Using the US Keyboard layout it works fine

Using any other local keyboard setting, the GGW Client does not overtake this layout correctly from Windows CE.
It changes y and z anyway and places the umlauts to other taps but not the right ones.

Is there a way to patch the CE Client, or start it with additional parameters to use local installed keyboard layout ?
