Hi,

Is there a way of displaying a message window every time a user logs on to the server?
I have seen this post, but I'm not sure if it answers my question :?:

Maybe it's possible to accomplish with a script that resides in the directory $GOGLOBAL_ROOT/etc/startxgo.d/ ?
If it does, maybe you can suggest a script to do it

Thanks,
hadaraz.

Hadraz,

There is no (integrated) way of displaying a message window every time a user logs on. As you note, this can be done with login scripts but I do not have any reference scripts. You might want to use motd or xmessage to prompt a user. Refer to the man pages on how to use these. And yes you can refer back to the earlier posting which answers the same question.
