When I use go-Global (from a PC) to Solaris 10 (SPARC).

If I use CDE, everything is OK. but if I use GNOME to login to Java Desktop. I can not type any character to any application. Any idea?

I have the same problem. Seems xkb crashes or doesn't load on startup, I get an error from xbk on login. As you mentioned, everything else works (CDE, OLVWM etc). Thing is, Gnome2 (which is what JD is based on, iirc) works fine in Solaris 9 with the Go global version 1.65 we have.

FYI A followup, since nobody else has replied:

The default installation of Java Desktop System on Solaris 10 has issues when used with Exceed. The Exceed session will not accept keyboard input in some cases.

To work around this issue, touch the following file:
/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defaults/apps/gnome_settings_daemon/keybindings/%gconf.xml
and edit the file with:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<gconf>
<entry name="volume_up" mtime="1110896708" type="string">
<stringvalue></stringvalue>
</entry>
<entry name="volume_mute" mtime="1110896705" type="string">
<stringvalue></stringvalue>
</entry>
<entry name="volume_down" mtime="1110896702" type="string">
<stringvalue></stringvalue>
</entry>
<entry name="help" mtime="1110896698" type="string">
<stringvalue></stringvalue>
</entry>
</gconf>

Even though the above only mentioned Exceed, this in does (I can confirm) get the keyboard working with Go Global, although the error message I experience from XKB still shows, at least the keyboard works now.
