Hi folks

Can anybody tell me what the gown/1 process is. I see a number of them on my system, each consuming CPU time and wondered what they were.

26748 test123 3672K 2656K cpu132 0 0 3:14:23 6.1% gowm/1
8252 test123 3600K 2520K cpu227 0 0 27:19:24 6.1% gowm/1

Thanks

gowm is the GO-Global X Window Manager. It is used in lieu of another Window Mgr (CDE, KDE, Gnome, etc) when needed. You'll see gowm when publishing an independent application (multiple-window session) rather than the full desktop (single-window session). See also page 12 of the GGU Administration guide.
