How can I know whom connected with a session? 7 Years, 8 Months ago Karma: 0
Sometimes I experienced that a GOGlobal session suspended the day before is no more present in the suspended sections, but the processes are still running.
There is any way to see the process status?
Attached the specific session log and all leader history.

Best regards

GO-Global updates ump/wtmp to support the 'who' and 'last' commands for example. If you want to know which users have active connections you could do:

$ who | grep gold

john gold:28360 Aug 28 17:52 (192.168.100.147)
root gold:28461 Aug 28 17:55 (192.168.100.147)

Counting user connections:

$ who | grep gold | wc -l

If you send a SIGINT to the gold leader process (above) then any user sessions that
are running under it will be suspended.

kill -INT 28360
kill -2 28360

If you send a SIGTERM to the gold leader process then the connection will be closed
and any sessions under it will be terminated.

You could also us the ps command to find out the process tree of the gold processes to see the relationship of the applications.
On Linux you could use 'ps axjf'.

Hello

Thank you for the quick answer, but I'm a little confused, I work on hp-ux and "who -T | grep gold" command output is:
# who -T | grep gold

but just feew of the the shown processes are still running:ohmy: :

# ps -ef | grep gold
root 11821 4217 0 13:49:23 pts/40 0:00 grep gold
root 3252 1031 0 06:55:21 ? 1:22 /opt/graphon/bin/gold

root 1031 1 0 Oct 6 ? 19:52 /opt/graphon/bin/gold
root 11378 1031 0 13:29:03 ? 0:07 /opt/graphon/bin/gold

Anyway, I sent the INT signal to both running gold, all the open session have been suspended, but as soon I try to reconnect them, the missed session is still missed.

Moreover I notice a strange behavior, a new gold child is periodically started and terminated few seconds later, can it be the reason of missed session?

Just to show you the behavior, see the attached tusc trace, looking at PID 11799, 11803 and 11815.

Hello Bruno,

From the logs it's difficult to determine which session is actually lost or suspended. The leader logs indicate that there are a number of (client) 60 second timeouts. If these are all from the same user perhaps there are multiple golds generated for a single user.

Also noted that your server is GGU 2.2.12 and your client is version 2.2.13. You should try and upgrade the server to v2.2.13. A number of maintenance fixes & timing issues were addressed in this release and there is a fair chance that your issue is resolved.

If this does not resolve the issue, I suggest you open a Case with our Support team. They can help you diagnose this issue in more detail.

Regards,

-Erik
