TOPIC: Mouse quit working but keyboard still works

Mouse quit working but keyboard still works 8 Years, 8 Months ago Karma: 0
Been using goglobal client version 2.2.9.1039 220 on unix. Last night my unix app seemed to lock up. I've since figured out that goglobal is recognizing keyboard input, but not mouse clicks. I can move the cursor around the screen, but can't click on various Xterms or switch
to different window panes.

Any idea how to re-initialize the mouse clicks? Is there a keyboard command I can use to get a list of Xterms or Window panes? (I really don't want to nuke the whole session and lose the jobs that are in progress).

thanks.

Try hitting Ctrl-q and perhaps try hitting the two set of CTRL, ALT and SHIFT key on both sides of the keyboard.

Hitting these keys would reset them in case they got out of synch when moving between the windows in GO-Global and the client PC windows.

Thanks Eric. CTRL_ALT_SHIFT seemed to help. It didn't reset the mouse directly, but it let me use the keyboard to close some apps. I uncovered an open dialog box that was buried in the background. After closing the dialog box the mouse came back to life.

If you have a mouse with 3 buttons (the middle button you use for screen scrolling) press the middle button and your mouse will back working, I donĀ“t know how this works

You might be having problems with the "middle button emulation" provided by GO-Global. This is useful in the case that your windows mouse only has 2 buttons (rare these days, but still possible). In this case, GO-Global will simulate a middle-mouse click if the left and right mouse buttons are pressed at the same time (if your client preferences have the "Emulate middle mouse button" option enabled). If you press the middle mouse button, GO-Global knows that your mouse has 3 buttons, and will disable it's emulation (unless you have the "Always emulate middle mouse button" option enabled).

So if you're having problems with the mouse buttons, you could try turning on and off those options to see if that resolves the issue.
