GG winxp session freezing after xp screenlock 9 Years, 7 Months ago Karma: 0
hi,

running GG latest versions, the server is on an SGI Altix 350 running linux Novell SUSE Enterprise 10, Itanium2 64-bit. All the clients are dell pc's running winxp.

For all the folks who are located in the same building as the server, there's no problem. They either suspend their GG sessions and close their windows and screenlock their pc for the night. The next morning they unlock the pc, resume their GG session and all is well.

but, there's one guy who is accessing the machine from Texas. We are in CT. GG works fine for the most part during the day but at night he will either suspend GG and log out or shutdown the pc, or leave all GG windows open and screenlock the pc. The next morning when he gets back on to his pc, his GG session is frozen. At this point all he can do is close GG and open a new session, losing any work in windows he may have had open.

anybody know what's going on?
is there a fix for this, some kind of server or client setting that needs tweaking maybe?

thanks

There is an issue in the current v2.2.7 release where activating the screen lock with CTRL-ALT-DEL might leave the client in state where it thinks that CTRL and/or ALT is always depressed. This might be mistaken for being "hung" since most keyboard input will not function correctly. You can generally "correct" this by pressing the CTRL and/or ALT keys and releasing them get the keyboard back into sync with the session. (Suspending and resuming the session might also correct this.)

If it's not the CTRL-ALT issue, we'd probably start troubleshooting by examining his leader logs and session logs when the problem happens (these are located on the server in the ~/.graphon/log/ directory). The best way to submit these is probably to e-mail them (as a ZIP or TGZ) to support@graphon.com.
