TOPIC: login restriction to one user

login restriction to one user 13 Years, 8 Months ago
Hi,

if there a possibility to prevent multiple logins of the same user on a Go-Global UNIX server? We need that for security reasons in our company. I found no configuration possibility for gold to do that.

Hello Axel,

Currently this isn't possible as you describe. We intend for it to be possible in future versions via PAM.

Today, you could implement checking in the startXgo script (or better, by adding a script to the ${GOGLOBAL_ROOT}/etc/startXgo.d/ directory) to abort session startup if the user is already running a session (by checking for the existance of an xinit process owned by the user).

Ideally, you could publish a script that would perform such a check, notify the user if they were logged in more than once, and otherwise start your application.

Hope this helps,
Troy
