Hi

I've a GO-Global UX Client for Windows, now I'm looking for a GO-Global UX Client for Linux (Debian) (prefered Version 2.1.4.716 20013)?
Where can I get them?

Your best bet is to use a program called “alien”. Alien is a program that converts between other installer formats to rpm (among many).

The software as well as more information is available via one of the following websites:

http://packages.debian.org/stable/alien
http://kitenet.net/programs/alien/

After you installed ”alien”, use the alien command to convert the GO-Global Linux rpm file to a deb file:

Code:

# alien -k ggw.rpm

Once the .deb file is created you can install the GGW Linux client with the following command:
Code:

# dpkg -i ggw_3.2.0.xxxx.deb

Actually, Erik, he was looking for a GO-Global for UNIX client, not GO-Global for Windows, so converting the RPM package isn't relevant: GO-Global for UNIX clients are not shipped as RPMs.

The installer for the client should run fine on a Debian system. The fact that it is labeled for Red Hat merely indicates that it was tested and certified to run well there. On a Debian system you may have to satisfy library dependencies or install additional packages.

If you run into problems you can always contact our support team at support @ graphon.com and they can help you resolve them if possible.

Thanks,
