Hi,

I've registered for one of our customers which requested redundant servers.
I've entered the main hostid/hostname at the top register part. I've changed the redundant question to "yes". I've entered the redundant server hostid/hostname at the first of the redundant servers fields and clicked next.
The page insisted on getting hostid/hostname for all 3 line fields, so after trying to contact you (no one answered off working time) i've pasted the same hostid/hostname for all 3 redundant server lines.
I've done so for all the three licenses of the customer.
After i've finished, i tried to install the files and noticed two things.
1. the file included ONLY the redundent server name ! did i make a mistake ? how do i fix it ?
2. when checking with lmstat - i get this :

lmstat - Copyright (C) 1989-1999 Globetrotter Software, Inc.
Flexible License Manager status on Mon 3/8/2004 07:36

License server status: 27000@eNM-MIRROR
License file(s) on eNM-MIRROR: /usr/local/graphon/etc/license.dat:

eNM-MIRROR: license server UP (MASTER) v6.1

Vendor daemon status (on eNM-MIRROR):

graphon: The desired vendor daemon is down -97,380:146 (Connection refused)

what could it be ?

Your prompt answer will be highly appreciated.

Vago,

In order to provide redundant licensing, you NEED three seperate license servers (and thus three hostnames & hostid's) as that is the minimum requirement to establish a quorum. If only two license servers will be used, you'll want to review the following forum post: http://www.graphon.com/support/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14.

I would also recommend reviewing the system configuration notes posted on the licensing help page http://license.graphon.com/help.html. This will guide in the right direction as to what license server implementation you want to use and what information to provide to obtain a redundant license.

Hi Erik,

1. I've implemented the first solution on day one - the posted error is after the implementation of the solution.
2. The help documents doesn't clearly specify what to do with the redundant servers. since it clearly states up to 3 redundant servers then i guess i didn't make a mistake when i tried to write only one. but is there any problem when i copy/pasted the hostid three times ?
is that what's causing the error message ?
in the file the main server doesn't appear, is it ok ? if everything worked ok and there wasn't an error message, will the main server try to find the license localy first ?
