Need help installing license in Unix 11 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi Everyone!
I copied the license.dat file I received by email into the unix server but the license is not working!
After reboot and using the command "lmstat -a" I get the message "<Error: 1 licenses, unsupported by licensed server> Could this be some error with the machine identification?
The host name is fa6sev and the host id was retrieved with command "uname -i" and it is 5130132.

I have 2 licenses to install and I have the problem with both.
I believe I have to merge both license.dat files in one file only. Is this easy to do?

Can you help?

Best regards,

Fernando,

It sounds like you've probably used the wrong host ID. The host ID that is required for the license is the FlexLM host ID, which you can get either by running "lmhostid" or which we put in a file in ${GOGLOBAL_ROOT}/etc/hostid.txt.

Combining licenses is pretty easy as long as the licenses were obtained for the same host ID. Just copy the "INCREMENT" line from each new license into the old license.

Hope this helps,
Troy
