Connection Multiplexing and Microsoft License 11 Years ago Karma: 0
Dear All,

I have a following question regarding the Microsoft License policy related to the use of Go-Global:

From the license point of view Microsoft does not allow any hardware/software multiplexing solutions, for each user and device there must be a separate license CAL.

This means that if we would like to use Go-Global for 25 users to be able to connect to e.g. Windows 2003 Server and run any application installed on this server we would also need 25 CAL licenses for each users.

Does it work this way or am I missing something here?

I am asking because we are interested in purchasing Go-Global for 25 users to connect to a server within a domain (we already have 25 domain users CAL)

If we would like to use WTS or Cytrix we would have to buy 25 terminal users anyway. What about Go-Global? Does it work the same way?

Regards,

mix

Hi mix2ra.

IMHO you only need CAL license (like in any kind connection). I have official pricelist and there is an information that you don't need terminal user license (TS CAL) on win2003. I'll get official standpoint about this in a few days so I let you know.
