Actually that comment is not entirely correct. In general, GO-Global supports COM port redirection if the application uses the Win32 file APIs ReadFile and WriteFile to access the COM port. We do not support applications that access the COM port indirectly using Microsoft's Telephony API (TAPI).

As an example, it is possible to sync your Palm PDA from the client to server
using Palm Desktop software (residing on the server). Also, virtually all USB printers are supported.

It is not guaranteed however, that a scanner attached to the client com port will sync with the software. While this is conceivable, it fully depends on how the device/driver talks to the COM port.

Note that the COM port redirection function is automatically turned on when the Drives option is enabled within the Cluster Manager (Tools -> Server options).
