Problems with published applications 4 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
Hello,

I have installed the GO-Global for windows product and have published several applications to test how this is working. The server that I am using as the GO-Global server is a windows server 2003 web edition. I have for test purposes Installed and published several applications. My work in evaluating this product has created several questions so I hope that people won't mind a long post.

The first application I published is a product called 'Powerdesk' Which is a enhanced replacement for Windows explorer. This product works perfectly fine when I open the application.

The second application that I tried to publish, which is an application that is installed in a network location, when I had published it gave me no User/ group settings and when I open up the client window this application does not appear as an option to use.

The Third application that I installed is a product called MySQL manager from a company called EMS-hitech. when I try to open this application nothing happens, I get no error messages and there is no window that opens up.

Finally I installed Microsoft Office 2003 on this server and published Word as an application. When I attempt to open up word through the client however the Windows Installer is attempting to run and I am getting an error code of 1719 saying that the windows Installer service could not be accessed. eventually however Word will open and I can make changes to existing documents or create new documents perfectly fine. the problem is I don't want to be seeing these messages all the time.

A last question that we have is whether GO-Global can be run through an existing Citrix server?

I know that I have asked a lot, but after the little bit of evaluation these are the questions that have come up.

TIA

Eric Lommatsch
