Sometimes a published item specifies requirements that the current GO-Global for UNIX client cannot meet. This will cause the icon that is published to the client to be "disabled" or grayed out. This can happen in the following situations:

If the item is published in an 8-bit depth, but the current client is not 8-bit (and cannot do 8-bit via multidepth) then the item will be disabled.

If the item is published in 16- or 24-bit depths, and the client cannot handle those depths (i.e. the client has an 8-bit display) then the item will be disabled.

If the "Multiple Root Depth" item is checked, and the client cannot provide this functionality, then the item will be disabled.
