GGUX 2.2.9 on Red Hat bad Performace with GNOME 2 Months ago Karma: 0
We have deployed GGUX 2.2.9 on RedHat Linux Servers, connecting with 4-Screen clients.
With this configuration we are facing a plenty of performance issues when working on the Gnome. e.g. changing the background color pushes the CPU load to 100% for a very long time.

I have compared this with my testserver and single screen client....with a single Screen on client side, the GNOME responds as quick as expected.

Is there any known problem/workaround for this config ?

Cheers

Michael

We are not aware of any specific issues with Gnome. Version 2.2.9 actually has a migrating pixmap performance enhancement which has reduced the amount of CPU being used and solved a number of issues. If you are sending tons of data updating four screens, especially with screen savers, then the application is doing some heavy-duty pushing. Also, Gnome is known for it's use of heavy graphics so using it on 4 screens might be pushing it. Have you compared this to KDE?
