Accessing Session Name 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hi,

For various reasons we have to use a shared account for the Windows Logon, but we'd like to track the particular logon in our software log (one reason being that we will be able to identify a particular user in the Cluster Manager).

Is there any way to gain access to the Session Name from our software (e.g. an Environment Variable similar to the client machine name and IP)?

Thanks,

Mark

Mark,

There is no way that I know of to get a session variable. You might be able to set one using a startup script however.

Erik,

Thanks for that - is it possible to put in a request that the Session Name is trapped into an Environment Variable?

Yes, I will alert the dev team. There is a similar request under review for getting the client username variable.
