We've had two cases (I'm on the phone with one of them now) that when a user tries to run the iGoldMine Windoes Client install, the install process starts to run but then brings up an error indicating that it cannot find one of it's files needed for the install. The files are all unpacked in the "temp folder structure" that the installer created. In the first case the user was running Windows 2000 and I believe that I ended up running in SAFE MODE in order to be able to do the install. This user I am on the phone with now is running Windows XP Pro and I understand that one cannot install software on XP in SAFE MODE (I'm not sure since all our PCs are WIN2K) but anyway we had to turn on the ability for him to see "hidden files and folder" in the Folder Options in Windows Explorer and rerun the install. Right now he's getting the error, browsing for the file requested (buried deep in the temp folder), getting the next error, browsing for the next file, etc., etc. He's been at it for 10 minutes - I'm not sure if we will be able to get through the install this way or not. OK, we just make it through and the Windows Client is running. So, what's causing the problem? Please note that I had both users close down ALL applications that were running in the system tray, etc., AND turn off ALL virus checking functions, etc. and neither action resolved the problem.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
