The scenario is as follows:

in my GO-Global window I log onto a unix machine in an xterm. I highlight a section of text. In a form in a browser running under Windows 2000 I right click and paste. This works OK.

I then make another selection in my GO-Global xterm. When I try to paste this in the same form I get the first selection pasted instead of the current selection. :?

Can anyone tell me how to make Windows see my current selection in GO-Global rather than the initial selection?

I am using the Windows client version of GO-Global in case that makes a difference.

Can you give me an idea of how much time the entire interaction takes? i.e;
1) You select some text in an xterm
2) at time t0, you paste it into a Windows app
3) you select another piece of text in an xterm
4) at time t1, you paste it in a Windows app

My question is, what is the order of magnitude for the difference between t1 and t0? In particular, is it a couple of seconds, or is it half a minute or more? And if it's only a couple of seconds, does the problem still occur if you make the difference be half a minute, or longer?

I have tried (but failed) to select and paste a few seconds after a successful paste. I have also done the same but minutes apart. It seems that it is the first selection which is pasted which seems to stay in the paste buffer.

Why would the timing affect things?

I recall there being a one second or so interval during which you could get old selection, due to the way copy-and-paste was implemented in the Windows client. I am not certain if it's actually implemented that way any more. I am also not able to reproduce the situation you are describing with GoGlobal 2.1 running on a Solaris host, and the Windows client. Since you say that you experience this issue even after you wait a significant amount of time between making a new selection and pasting it, then obviously the one-second or so interval I was thinking of isn't what we are up against here.

I am having this same problem today in good old 2007... 4 years later than the last post. Has this issue been resolved?
