Cybersafe Initialization failure 13 Years, 8 Months ago Karma: 0
When I install an evaluation copy of Go-Global for UNIX the following error message appears and the start up fails:
gold[1114]: [ID 633126 user.error] gold: Cybersafe Initialization failed: unable to load library /opt/graphon/lib/libcybersafeauth.so:
ld.so.1: /opt/graphon/bin/gold: fatal: relocation error: file /opt/graphon/lib/l
ibcybersafeauth.so: symbol csf_gss_detect_smartcard: referenced symbol not found

Any clues as to what to do next?

Hello Nick,

The short story is that the message you're seeing is just a warning, and in your case, completely normal.

The longer story: GO-Global for UNIX includes an authentication module for a specific Kerberos implementation that was requested by a specific customer of ours. We felt there was no harm in shipping the module to everyone, but only people with that implementation will be able to use that authentication module.

Unfortunately, the implementation causes gold to try to load the module at boot time to determine if it's available or not. On stock Solaris systems, the loading of the 'gss' library (which is provided by Solaris, but also by the Kerberos implementation) will fail because the Solaris library doesn't have the symbols that our authentication module is expecting.

If you're experiencing other problems, they probably aren't related to this message.

Thanks,
Troy
